LaGrange (say "lə-GRAINJ") is a small village in Lorain County, Ohio, United States. In 2020, about 2,595 people lived there.

The village got its name from a special place in France. It was named after the Château de la Grange-Bléneau, which was the home of Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette. He was a French officer who helped America during the American Revolutionary War.

Sherman's Circle and the Civil War Statue

In downtown LaGrange, there is a place called Sherman's Circle. This area is looked after by the LaGrange Township Trustees. It has a special statue that honors the soldiers from the Civil War who fought for the Union.

For almost 120 years, a statue of General Sherman stood in the town square. However, on June 28, 2022, a truck accidentally hit the statue. This caused the statue to be taken down.
