Lake Brownwood is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Brown County in central Texas, United States. The population was 1,532 at the 2010 census.

Geography
The Lake Brownwood CDP is located in western Brown County at 31°49′25″N 99°5′41″W / 31.82361°N 99.09472°W (31.823538, -99.094827), along the western arm of Lake Brownwood, a reservoir on Jim Ned Creek and Pecan Bayou. The CDP is 13 miles (21 km) northwest of Brownwood, the county seat.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.8 square miles (17.5 km2), of which 5.7 square miles (14.7 km2) are land and 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), or 15.77%, are covered by water.
