Discovering Lake Fannie

Where is Lake Fannie?

Lake Fannie is easy to find in Winter Haven, Florida. It's located in the northeastern part of the city. The lake's northern edge runs along Polk County Road 544. Parts of its eastern side have homes nearby, while the other parts are surrounded by natural woodlands.

Fun on the Water

You can visit Lake Fannie from its north shore, right off County Road 544. There's also a public boat ramp on the northeast shore, which you can also reach from Road 544. This makes it easy for people to launch their boats and enjoy the lake.

Lake Fannie is an important part of the Winter Haven Chain of Lakes. This means it's connected to other lakes by canals. On its west side, Lake Fannie connects to Lake Smart. On its east side, it connects to Lake Hamilton (Florida). For a few years, the water in these canals was very low or even dry, so Lake Fannie wasn't fully connected to the rest of the chain. However, it is usually part of this cool system of waterways. There are no public swimming areas directly on the lake's shore.

Who Lives in the Lake?

If you're interested in fishing, Lake Fannie is home to several types of fish. You might find fish like gar, channel catfish, blue catfish, warmouth, and bluegill swimming in its waters.
