Type man-made lake

Lake Lynn is a man-made lake in Raleigh, North Carolina. It was built in 1976. The main reason for creating Lake Lynn was to help control floods. This means it helps stop too much water from causing damage when there's heavy rain.

The lake was made by building a dam across Hare Snipe Creek, which is a smaller stream that flows into Crabtree Creek. Lake Lynn covers about 56 acres (22.5 hectares) of land. It is completely inside the city of Raleigh's 75-acre (30-hectare) Lake Lynn Park.
