The Lake Merritt Plaza was built by a company called Transpacific Development Co. A famous architect named Bill Valentine designed this modern building. Construction was finished, and the building opened its doors in 1985. It quickly became an important part of the Oakland skyline.

Who Owns the Building?

Over the years, the Lake Merritt Plaza has had a few different owners. In 2006, Transpacific Development Co. sold it to Beacon Capital Partners. Later, in 2014, Divco West bought the building. Then, in 2016, Clarion Partners purchased it from Divco West. They have been the owners ever since.
