Lake Pehoé is a beautiful lake found in the Torres del Paine National Park. This park is located in the Magallanes Region of southern Chile. The lake's name, Pehoé (pronounced "peh-oh-AY"), comes from the local language.

How Lake Pehoé Gets Its Water
The main source of water for Lake Pehoé is the Paine River. This river flows into Lake Pehoé after passing through another lake called Nordenskjöld Lake. Lake Pehoé also receives water from the outlet of Skottsberg Lake.
The water from the Paine River that feeds Lake Pehoé first flows over the impressive Salto Grande waterfall. This waterfall is a powerful and beautiful sight.
Wildlife Around the Lake
The area around Lake Pehoé and the upper part of its watershed is full of interesting plants and animals. One of the most common animals you might see grazing here is the wild guanaco. Guanacos are relatives of llamas and are native to South America. They are often seen in herds, enjoying the rich plant life.
