Lake Tuakitoto is a small, shallow lake found in the area of South Otago, which is part of the South Island of New Zealand. It is located near the town of Kaitangata, a short distance northeast of Balclutha.
Lake Tuakitoto is the smallest of the three main lakes in South Otago. The other two are Lake Waihola and Lake Waipori. All three of these lakes are known for being quite shallow. The water from Lake Tuakitoto flows into the lower parts of the Clutha River.
