This community is situated on a railway line. This line is currently used by CSX Transportation. In the past, it was a stop for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad. Train depots, like the one in Lakeshore, were important places where people and goods could get on and off trains.

Lakeshore has had its own post office since 1901. This means that for over 120 years, people in Lakeshore have been able to send and receive mail right in their community.
Facing a Big Storm
On August 29, 2005, a very powerful storm called Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast. A reporter from CNN, Gary Tuchman, said that Lakeshore was one of the places hit hardest by this hurricane. The storm caused a lot of damage to the community.

Today, Lakeshore is home to the Silver Slipper Casino. This casino is a popular spot for entertainment in the area.
