About Lakeside Shopping Center
Lakeside is a huge mall, covering about 967,000 sq ft (89,800 m2) of space. It has four main anchor stores. These are big stores like Dillard's, Macy's, JCPenney, and Zara.
Besides these large stores, you can explore over 120 other shops. There are also many restaurants where you can grab a bite to eat. It's a great place to find almost anything you need!
A Bit of History
Long ago, Lakeside used to have its own movie theater. It had five screens. This theater was in a separate building near Dillard's.
However, newer movie theaters started opening. These new theaters had special stadium-style seating. Because of this, Lakeside's movie theater closed down. It was later taken down in 2000. The space was then used for more shops.
There's another mall nearby called Clearview Mall. It opened in 1966. Clearview Mall never had a movie theater on its property. But in 2001, it added a large food court. It also built 12 new movie screens with stadium seating.
What You'll Find There
Lakeside has many different stores. The main, large stores are called "anchors." They help attract many shoppers to the mall.
Hurricane Katrina and the Mall

In 2005, a very strong storm called Hurricane Katrina hit the area. Luckily, the mall only had a little bit of damage from the storm. It was able to recover well.
