Landskrona Municipality (which in Swedish is Landskrona kommun) is a local government area in Scania County, Sweden. Its main town and administrative center is the city of Landskrona.
The island of Ven became part of the City of Landskrona in 1959. The municipality as we know it today was formed through several mergers in 1967, 1969, and 1974. Since 1971, it has been a single type of municipality, just like all others in Sweden. Even though it's a municipality, it often calls itself Landskrona stad (City of Landskrona). This is just a name and doesn't change its official status.
