Lantarón as a Medieval Fortress

Long, long ago, during the Middle Ages (which was a time from about the 5th to the 15th century), Lantarón was a very important place. It had a strong fortress built on the eastern edge of the Kingdom of León. A kingdom was a country ruled by a king or queen.

Important Leaders of the Fortress

For many years, during the 800s and 900s, different leaders called "counts" were in charge of the Lantarón fortress. A count was a powerful noble who governed a region for the king.
