The Lardeya Ice Piedmont is a large, flat sheet of ice found in Antarctica. It's like a wide, slow-moving river of ice. This ice sheet stretches about 8.6 nautical miles (which is about 16 kilometers) from north to south. It is also about 4 nautical miles (around 7.4 kilometers) wide from east to west.
You can find the Lardeya Ice Piedmont on the eastern side of the Sentinel Range. This mountain range is part of the Ellsworth Mountains in Ellsworth Land. The ice piedmont helps to drain, or carry away, ice from the northeast slopes of the Flowers Hills. This ice then flows into the Rutford Ice Stream to its east-northeast. It also flows into the Ellen Glacier to its north. The name "Lardeya" comes from a medieval fortress in southeastern Bulgaria.
