Meet the Rescue Rangers!
In Lassie's Rescue Rangers, Lassie, a smart collie, lives near Thunder Mountain. She lives with the Turner family, who are super important to the story. Ranger Ben Turner, voiced by Ted Knight, works to protect the park. His wife, Laura, voiced by Jane Webb, helps too.
Their children, Susan, Jackie, and Ben Jr., are also part of the team. Together, they are known as the Forest Force. Their main job is to keep Thunder Mountain National Park safe and clean. They protect the environment and make sure visitors have a good time.
Lassie's Animal Team
Lassie isn't just a pet; she's the leader of a special group called the Rescue Rangers! This team is made up of eight wild animals who live in the park. They work with the Turners to solve problems and help others.
Some of these amazing animal friends include:
- Groucho the owl
- Toothless the mountain lion
- Musty the skunk
- Robbie the raccoon
Toothless the mountain lion and Lassie were the only animals who appeared in every single episode. A friend of the Turner kids, Gene Fox, also helped out. He was a Native American character, voiced by Lane Scheimer.
Adventures of the Rescue Rangers
The show had one season with 16 exciting episodes. Each episode featured the Forest Force and the Rescue Rangers working together. They faced many challenges to protect their park and its creatures.
What Kind of Adventures?
The team often dealt with tricky situations. For example, in one episode, criminals tried to use animals for an illegal operation. In another, a mysterious object crashed in the woods, making everyone wonder if it was from outer space!
They also had to rescue people in danger. Once, they saved a doctor during an epidemic. Another time, they helped a grizzly bear named King learn to live in the wild. The adventures weren't just in the park; they even went to the city during a blackout and searched for firefighters in Alaska!
The Rescue Rangers also faced strange villains. A mad scientist once made robot copies of the team to rob banks! They even had to stop someone trying to sabotage a rodeo. No matter the challenge, Lassie and her friends were always ready to help.
