Lauren B. Resnick is a famous educational psychologist. She studies how people learn and think. She has helped us understand a lot about learning. Dr. Resnick is a professor of psychology at the University of Pittsburgh. She used to lead the Learning Research and Development Center there. She was also the president of the American Educational Research Association from 1986 to 1987. She won a big award, the E. L. Thorndike Award, in 1998.

Lauren Resnick has spent over 50 years studying how people learn. She has done important research on how kids learn science. She also looks at how people learn together in groups. Before joining the University of Pittsburgh, she worked at Harvard University and the City University of New York. She has also been a speaker and visiting scholar all over the world.

Her Early Life and Schooling

Lauren Resnick loved history and literature when she was in college. She studied at Radcliffe College for her first degree. She then went to Harvard University for her master's degree and her doctorate. After finishing her studies, she taught at the American School of Paris for a time.
