Lavalette is a small community in Wayne County, West Virginia, in the United States. It is called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town with its own local government.

Lavalette is found where two main roads meet: West Virginia Route 152 and West Virginia Route 75. It is about eight miles south of a larger city called Huntington.

How Lavalette Got Its Name

Lavalette was named after a girl named Lavalette Miller. Her father worked for the Norfolk & Western Railway, which was a big train company.
