Lawesburg was a small community in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, in the United States. It was an "unincorporated community," which means it didn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it was part of a larger county.
Lawesburg was located within what is now the City of Appleton. In 1853, Lawesburg became part of the Village of Appleton. Today, it is fully part of the larger City of Appleton. Some of the old buildings from Lawesburg still exist. They are protected because they are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This means they are important historical sites.

The Story of Lawesburg
Lawesburg was founded in 1849 by a man named George W. Lawe. It was one of three small villages that grew up around the Lawrence Institute. This institute was an important center that helped new communities form nearby.
The three villages were:

- The village of Lawesburg
All these communities were located right along the Fox River. The Fox River was important for transportation and trade back then. Over time, both Grand Chute and Lawesburg became part of the growing City of Appleton. This means they no longer exist as separate villages but are now neighborhoods within Appleton.
