Lawrence Pillers (born November 4, 1952) is a former American football player. He was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for ten years. He played for the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, and Atlanta Falcons. Pillers is famous for winning two Super Bowl championships with the San Francisco 49ers.

Early Football Career

Lawrence Pillers was born in Hazlehurst, Mississippi. He played college football for the Alcorn State Braves team. In the 1976 NFL draft, the New York Jets picked him in the 11th round. He played for the Jets from 1976 to 1980.

Super Bowl Wins

Pillers joined the San Francisco 49ers in 1980. He became a key player for their defense. With the 49ers, he helped his team win two Super Bowl titles.

Super Bowl XVI

The 49ers won Super Bowl XVI in 1982. They defeated the Cincinnati Bengals. This was the first Super Bowl win for the San Francisco 49ers.

Super Bowl XIX
