Laya Aiesha Lewis, born on May 14, 1992, is an English actress. She is most famous for playing the character Liv Malone in the TV show Skins. This popular drama was shown on the E4 channel from 2011 to 2012.

Early Life and School

Laya Lewis was born in South London, England, but she grew up in Bristol. Her mother's parents came to England from Jamaica in the 1960s. Laya went to Fairfield Secondary School and later studied at Cotham School.

Acting Career

Laya Lewis started her acting career while she was still in school. She got her first TV role in the fifth series of the teen drama Skins. The show began on January 27, 2011.

Laya got the part of Liv Malone through open auditions held in Bristol. The show's team visited local schools, and Laya was asked to try out. She had actually auditioned for Skins before, when she was 16, but decided not to take part at that time.

In April 2012, Laya appeared in a music video for the song "My Kind of Love" by Emeli Sandé. In the video, Laya played a young girl living with cancer.

In 2013, she filmed a short movie called The Line. It was about a teenage girl and a young boy trying to survive in a future world. Laya also played the main character, Beverly, in a short film called Beverley. This film told the true story of a mixed-race girl growing up in Leicester in the 1980s.

Laya has also done voice-over work. She once provided the short announcements for BBC Radio 1 Breakfast show with Nick Grimshaw. She won an award for "up and coming artist" at the British Urban Film Festival.
