Ledo d.d. is a well-known company from Croatia. They make delicious ice cream and many kinds of frozen food. Their main office is in Zagreb, a big city in Croatia.
Ledo is one of the biggest producers of frozen food and ice cream in Southeastern Europe. You can find their products not only in Croatia but also in countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, Albania, Montenegro, and Hungary.
A Sweet History
Ledo has been making tasty treats for a long time. In 1958, they introduced the very first ice cream made in Croatia. It was a popular one called Snjeguljica, which means Snow White. Back then, Ledo was part of a larger company that produced milk.
Award-Winning Ice Cream
Ledo is known for its quality. In 2013, one of their ice creams, Ledo Torta, won a special award. It was named the best in the world at a big meeting for ice cream and frozen food makers. This shows how good their products are!
Ledo Joins a New Family
For many years, Ledo was part of a group called Agrokor. In 2018, Agrokor changed its name to Fortenova Group.
In early 2021, Fortenova Group announced that they were talking about selling their frozen food business. This included Ledo in Croatia, Ledo Čitluk in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Frikom in Serbia. They were talking with a company from the United Kingdom called Nomad Foods.
By March 2021, the deal was finalized. Nomad Foods bought these companies for a large amount of money. This meant that Ledo became part of the Nomad Foods family.
