Leroy "Lee" Winfield (born February 4, 1947 – died February 4, 2011) was a talented American professional basketball player. He played as a guard in the National Basketball Association (NBA) for several years.

Playing Career in the NBA

Lee Winfield was 6 feet 2 inches tall and played as a guard. He started his professional basketball journey in 1969. He was a member of three different NBA teams during his career.

Time with the Seattle SuperSonics

Winfield began his NBA career with the Seattle SuperSonics. He played for them from 1969 to 1972. His best seasons were in 1970–71 and 1971–72. During these years, he scored more than 10 points per game on average. This showed his skill as a scorer for the team.

Playing for the Buffalo Braves

After his time in Seattle, Winfield joined the Buffalo Braves. He played for the Braves from 1973 to 1974. He was part of the Braves' teams that made it to the playoffs in 1974 and 1975. Making the playoffs is a big achievement for any NBA team.
