Lemay is a community located in south St. Louis County, Missouri, in the United States. It is an unincorporated community and a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a recognized area with its own identity, but it does not have its own city government. In 2010, about 16,645 people lived there. By 2020, the population grew to 17,117.

History of Lemay
Lemay got its name from a man named Francois Lemai. He was an important person in the early 1800s. Francois Lemai operated a ferry boat. This boat helped people cross the Meramec River. Because of his work, the area was named after him.
