Lemon, lime and bitters (often called LLB) is a popular mixed drink. It's made with clear lemonade, lime cordial, and a special ingredient called Angostura bitters. Sometimes, people use soda water or lemon squash instead of lemonade.

You can also buy LLB already mixed in a can! This pre-mixed version is popular in places like Australia, New Zealand, and parts of the Caribbean. It has become very popular there since the mid-2010s.

LLB was first served as a non-alcoholic choice. It was an alternative to a drink called "Pink Gin." In 2018, an ABC News article even called lemon, lime and bitters "Australia's national drink."

People often think of LLB as a non-alcoholic cocktail or mocktail. This is because it has a very, very small amount of alcohol. It's usually less than 0.2%. However, some places might still ask for ID to make sure you are old enough to buy it.

A Bit of History

No one knows exactly when lemon, lime and bitters was first made. But many people believe it became popular in Australia around the year 1880.

Because of this, LLB is very common in Australia and New Zealand. It became a tradition for golf players to enjoy a glass of LLB after their game.

Most bars can make this drink fresh for you. But you can also find pre-mixed versions in supermarkets. Many soft drink companies now make it.
