Lena is found in the southwestern part of Leake County. It is about 10 miles (16 kilometers) southwest of Carthage. Carthage is the main town and county seat of Leake County. Lena is also about 40 miles (64 kilometers) northeast of Jackson, the capital city of Mississippi.
The town covers a total area of 1.66 square miles (4.3 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no water.
