Alleyona Canedo da Silva (born on November 6, 1969), known as Leona Cavalli, is a talented Brazilian actress and stage director. She has starred in many TV shows, movies, and plays.

Early Life and Career

Leona Cavalli grew up with three brothers. Her father was a politician, a lawyer, and a poet. Her mother was a teacher. When she was born, her parents named her Alleyona. Her mother wanted to name her Leona, but her father thought it was too strong for a baby. The name Cavalli comes from her godparents.

Leona spent her childhood playing outdoors in nature. She enjoyed running in fields, climbing trees, and swimming. Her father was the mayor of their city twice. Because of him, Leona learned to be comfortable around many people from a young age. Her mother taught her to appreciate beauty and freedom.

By the time she was ten, Leona was already traveling and dreaming of becoming an actress.

Education and First Steps

Leona started studying Performing Arts at the UFRGS. She also studied law at the PUC. However, she decided to leave both universities. She moved to São Paulo to pursue acting professionally.

She performed in several plays, including A Divina Sarah and Brincando em cima Daquilo.

Acting Career in Film and TV

Leona Cavalli has appeared in many films. Some of her notable movies include Um Céu de Estrelas, Amarelo Manga, Carandiru, and Olga. She also acted in Antônia and Aparecida - O Milagre.

She has also been in many popular Brazilian TV shows and miniseries. These include Da Cor do Pecado, Começar de Novo, Belíssima, and Bang Bang. She was also in the miniseries Amazônia, de Galvez a Chico Mendes and the TV shows Duas Caras and Negócio da China. Leona also appeared in an episode of Casos e Acasos.

In 2010, Leona was in the miniseries Dalva e Herivelto, playing the character Margot. She also performed in the play "Máscaras de Penas Penadas". That same year, she appeared in episodes of the TV series As Cariocas and A Vida Alheia. She also acted in the movie Os Inquilinos.

In 2011, she had a small role in the soap opera Araguaia. She also played Dr. Celina in the soap opera A Vida da Gente. In 2012, she appeared in the series As Brasileiras.

Leona played the character Zarolha in the 2012 remake of the telenovela Gabriela. In 2013, she was in the soap opera Amor à Vida, where she played a doctor named Glauce. More recently, she appeared in Órfãos da Terra in 2019 and Terra e Paixão in 2023.
