Leopold of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Prince of Salerno (born July 2, 1790 – died March 10, 1851) was an important member of the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. This royal family ruled parts of southern Italy for many years. Leopold became known as the Prince of Salerno.
In 1816, he married Archduchess Clementina of Austria.

About Prince Leopold
Leopold was born in Naples, Italy. His full name was Leopoldo of Naples and Sicily. He was the sixth son of King Ferdinand IV of Naples. His mother was Maria Carolina of Austria. She was the daughter of the famous Maria Theresa of Austria, who was a powerful ruler.
Family Life and Children
On July 28, 1816, Leopold married his niece, Archduchess Clementina of Austria. She was the daughter of Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor (who later became Francis I of Austria). Clementina's mother was Leopold's own sister, Maria Teresa of Naples and Sicily. Their wedding took place at Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna.
Leopold and Clementina had four children together. Sadly, only one of them lived past infancy. Their daughter, Princess Maria Carolina, was their only child to survive and grow up.
- A daughter was stillborn on September 16, 1819.
- Princess Maria Carolina was born on April 26, 1822. She died on December 6, 1869. She married Prince Henri, Duke of Aumale in 1844 and had children.
- Prince Lodovico Carlos was born on July 19, 1824, but died shortly after on August 7, 1824.
- Another daughter was stillborn on February 5, 1829.
Later Years and Passing
Prince Leopold lived to be sixty years old. He passed away on March 10, 1851, in Naples. His wife, Clementina, lived much longer. She died thirty years later when she was eighty-three years old.
