Lesage is a small community located in Cabell County, West Virginia, United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area identified by the U.S. Census Bureau for statistical purposes, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town.
In 2010, about 1,358 people lived in Lesage. It is situated along Ohio River Road, close to the Ohio River. Lesage is also the closest community to the Clover site, which is a very important historical place. The Clover site is recognized as a National Historic Landmark, meaning it has special historical significance to the United States.
Lesage is part of a larger area called the Huntington-Ashland Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). An MSA is a region that includes a large city and the nearby towns and counties that are closely connected to it. As of 2010, this larger area had a population of 287,702 people. By 2013, the population grew to about 363,000.
The community of Lesage was named after an early settler, Jules F. M. LeSage.
