Discovering the Aria Skyscraper
The Aria building stands tall at 33 stories high. It was designed by a famous architect named Edmund Gilchrist. For many years, it was one of the tallest office buildings in Philadelphia. People worked in its many offices.
A Look Back at the Aria's Past
The building opened its doors in 1929. It was known as the Lewis Tower Building back then. It was a very important office building for a long time. In fact, it was one of the tallest in the city. This was true until new, even taller skyscrapers were built in the late 1980s.
From Offices to Homes
In 2005, the building was sold. Its new owners decided to change it from offices into homes. These new homes are called condominiums. This was a big project to turn an old office building into modern living spaces.
The Aria's New Name and Look
After its big change, the building got a new name: Aria. This name is a special nod to its location. It is very close to the Avenue of the Arts. This area is famous for its many performing arts theaters and music halls.
The building also got a fresh new look. Its outside was cleaned and fixed up. The inside was completely remodeled. This made it a beautiful and modern place to live.
Who Owns the Aria?
In 2009, two people named Richard Oller and Jeffrey Goldstein bought the Aria. They are the current owners of this historic building. Today, the property is managed by Madison Parke.
