Early Life and Education
Alexis Marie Nucklos was born in Columbus, Ohio. She grew up singing in her grandfather's church. Her mother, Dr. Ruby Nucklos, is a physician.
Alexis went to Bowsher High School in Toledo. She later studied communications at Bowling Green State University. During her first year of college, she won the Ms. Bronze Pageant. In 1989, she joined the sorority Zeta Phi Beta.
Music Career and TV Shows
Lexi Allen started her music career singing background vocals. She worked with artists like Gerald LeVert, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, and Fred Hammond.
First Album and Break
Her first album, Call Her Lexi, came out in 1990. After this, she took a break from music. She studied and worked as a teacher for about ten years.
Returning to Music
Lexi married Michael Allen, a music producer. He helped her manage her music career. She then caught the attention of former boxing champion Evander Holyfield. Holyfield had his own record label, Real Deal Records.
While with Real Deal Records, Lexi released several albums:

Television Work
In 2006, Lexi Allen became a well-known face on The Word Network. She hosts a show called "The Word Network Church with Lexi". She also hosted The Lexi Show. On this show, she interviewed many famous guests. Some of these guests included Shirley Caesar and DeWayne Woods.
The Lexi Show was paused for almost a year in 2010. It returned in 2011 and again in 2015 after another break.
Recent Music and Other Ventures
In 2012, Lexi signed with Malaco Music Group. She then released her album Phenomenal. Two songs from this album became very popular. "Burn It All Down" reached #20 on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs charts. "Abide" reached #14.
Lexi also appears regularly on The Yolanda Adams Morning Show. She has a segment there called "Inside Inspiration with Lexi".
She also has a YouTube channel. On her channel, she creates funny videos. These videos often make jokes about church culture and African-American culture. She also makes parodies of popular TV shows. Besides her entertainment work, Lexi also runs a business called ALX Hair, which sells hair extensions.
Personal Life
Lexi Allen was married to Michael Dwayne Allen. Michael passed away on October 5, 2004. Lexi has a son named Michael Alexander Osaze Allen with her late husband.
