Dr. Liang's Medical Career

Dr. Liang Wudong was an important doctor. He was the head of the Orthopedics Department at the Chinese Hospital and Integrated Western Medicine of Hubei Province, also known as Xinhua Hospital. Orthopedics is the part of medicine that deals with bones and muscles. He had a history of heart problems, specifically a condition called atrial fibrillation, which affects the heart's rhythm.

His Battle with Coronavirus

On January 16, 2020, Dr. Liang started feeling sick. He had a fever and chills. He went to the Hubei Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital for help. A special scan, called a CT scan, showed that his lungs looked white. This was a sign of a serious lung infection.

After doctors found out he had coronavirus disease, he was moved to a special isolation room in the hospital. This was to keep him and others safe. On January 18, 2020, he was moved again to Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan to continue his treatment. Sadly, at 7:00 AM on January 25, 2020, Dr. Liang passed away at the age of 60.

On February 3, a group called the Shanxi Zhendong Renai Angel Fund gave money to Dr. Liang's family. They donated 100,000 yuan to help his family. They also gave 2,000 yuan for daily living costs.
