Lidija Vukićević (Serbian Cyrillic: Лидија Вукићевић; born 20 July 1962) is a famous Serbian actress and politician. She is well-known for her roles in films and TV shows. She also served as a member of the Serbian parliament.
Lidija Vukićević became very popular for playing Violeta, also known as Viki. Viki was the daughter in the main Popadić family on the hit TV series Bolji život. Her acting career was at its busiest from the mid-1980s to the early 1990s.
From 2004 to 2012, she was involved in politics. She was a member of the Serbian Radical Party (SRS). She served as a Member of Parliament (MP) in the Serbian parliament from 2007 to 2012. Lidija comes from the Vasojevići clan.

Lidija Vukićević started her acting journey with several small parts in movies and on television. Her big break in cinema came in 1985. She was cast in the movie Žikina dinastija
. This film was the seventh part of the popular comedy series Lude godine.Being in Žikina dinastija and regularly appearing on Bolji život helped her get more roles. She starred in other Yugoslav movies like Lutalica
. In this film, she played a young folk singer who comes to Belgrade to start a music career. She also had important supporting roles in movies such as Špijun na štiklama and Vampiri su među nama . These films were similar in style to Žikina dinastija.Political Involvement
In 2004, Lidija Vukićević joined the Serbian Radical Party (SRS). This was a political party that was not in power at the time. In the 2007 elections, Lidija Vukićević was included on the SRS list of candidates. After the election, she became one of the party's 81 Members of Parliament (MPs). An MP is someone elected by the people to represent them in the country's parliament.
In 2008, there was a big change within the SRS party. Many members left to form a new party. However, Lidija Vukićević chose to remain loyal to the SRS. She continued to serve as an MP until the 2012 elections. After these elections, she left the SRS.
About Her Family
In the early 1990s, Lidija Vukićević married Mitar Mrkela. He was a professional footballer for Red Star Belgrade. They had two sons together. Their first son, Andrej, was born in 1992 and also became a professional footballer. Their second son, David, was born in 1997. Lidija and Mitar divorced in 2000.
