Zane Copeland, Jr., known to many as Lil' Zane or just Zane, is an American rapper and actor. He became famous for his song "Callin' Me". This hit song featured the group 112 and was part of his first album, Young World: The Future, released in 2000.

Early Life and Music Start
When Zane was 10 years old, he found inspiration from music groups like Another Bad Creation and Kris Kross. He started practicing seriously with his cousin, E. Greene. His first fans recognized him when he was part of a group called Kronic. This group was signed to RCA Records from 1993 to 1996, but they didn't release any music.
After Kronic broke up, Zane began performing at local talent shows in Atlanta. In 1999, he started touring with the group 112 while working on his first album.
Zane's Music Career
First Album: Young World: The Future
In 1999, Zane's first song, "Money Stretch," was included on the Next Friday movie soundtrack. In 2000, he released his first album, Young World: The Future. This album featured his big hit song, "Callin Me."
The album first appeared at No. 165 on the Billboard 200 chart. It sold 7,000 copies in its first week. In its second week, it jumped to No. 25, selling 40,000 copies. Overall, the album sold 490,000 copies. It also reached No. 4 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
In 2001, Zane appeared on the Hardball movie soundtrack. He was on the song "Hardball" with Bow Wow, Lil Wayne, and Sammie. Later, Zane said he was working on an album called It Ain't Over, but he changed the name to The Big Zane Theory.
Second Album: The Big Zane Theory
In 2003, Zane released his second album, The Big Zane Theory. With this album, he officially changed his stage name from Lil' Zane to just Zane. He explained that Zane is his real name and his mom liked it.
This album did not become as popular as his first one. It reached No. 191 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 6,423 copies in its first week. It also reached No. 39 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The only song released from the album was "Tonite I'm Yours," which reached No. 87 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. The album sold a total of 40,000 copies. After this, Zane left Priority Records and took a break from music for five years to focus on acting.
Later Albums: Under the Radar and Tha Return
In 2004, Zane announced he was starting a new record label called "3 Mill Entertainment." He also said he was working on his third album, Under the Radar. This album was planned to feature artists like Akon and Rich Boy. It was supposed to be released in 2005 but never came out.
In late 2006, Zane began working on another new album, Tha Return. This album was released on February 26, 2008. It did not appear on any Billboard charts. The only song released from it was "Like This," which also did not chart. However, this song has been viewed over 150,000 times on YouTube and is known as Zane's comeback song.
Recent Music: My World: My Future
In 2010, Zane made a special appearance at the ten-year anniversary of the TV show 106 & Park. He announced he would release a mixtape called The Missing Link and a new song called "Put It In My Lap." On March 1, 2010, Zane was featured on "We Are The World: The Next Generation," a song that has over 2,000,000 views on YouTube.
In 2011, Zane released a song called "Must Be Nice" from his mixtape The Missing Link Volume 1. He also released a new song called "My Girl." In 2012, Zane announced his fourth album would be called My World: My Future. He released a song from it called "Sippin Hennessy" featuring Tupac Shakur. This song has been viewed over 100,000 times on YouTube. In 2013, Zane released "When I Get Home" featuring Young Joe. This song is on his mixtapes Champagne & Dirty Sprite and R.A.W (Raps About Women).
In 2013, Zane announced that the main song from his upcoming album would be "Roof Gone." As of 2016, Zane has been working with battle rapper Levi Fresco on new music.

Acting Career
Zane has acted in several movies and TV shows. Some of his movie roles include Finding Forrester, Dr. Dolittle 2, The Fighting Temptations, Motives, and A Day in the Life.
He has also appeared on TV shows such as The Parkers, One on One, All of Us, Cold Case, Moonlight, and Atlanta. More recently, he has had recurring roles in BMF and Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.
Money Making Muzik (MMM)
In 2004, Zane started his own record label, first called "3 Mill Entertainment." He changed its name to "U.S. Entertainment" in 2006. In 2010, he changed it again to Money Making Muzik (MMM).
