Lily is a small, unincorporated community in Langlade County, Wisconsin, United States. This means it's a group of homes and businesses that isn't officially a city or town. Instead, it's part of the larger Town of Langlade area. You can find Lily right where two important roads, Wisconsin State Highway 52 and Wisconsin State Highway 55, meet.
What You'll Find in Lily
The main offices for the Town of Langlade are located right here in Lily. This includes the Town Hall, where local decisions are made. You'll also find the Town of Langlade Fire & Rescue Department here. They are ready to help keep everyone safe in the community.
Fun on the Trails
Years ago, a train track used to run through Lily. The Wisconsin Central Ltd Railroad, which was once called the Soo Line, operated trains here until 2001. After the tracks were removed, the old railroad path was turned into something new and exciting: the Wolf River State Trail.
Lily is also a popular spot for many snowmobile and ATV trails. These trails connect to different areas, making it a great place for outdoor adventures. The Lily Sno-Birds Clubhouse is located on Turtle Lake Road. In the past, there was a small racetrack there where snowmobiles and ATVs used to race. The track is not currently in use.
A Bit of History
Lily had its own post office for a short time. It was first opened in 1882. However, the post office was closed down nine years later, in 1891.
