Lincoln Township is home to a couple of small communities. These are known as unincorporated communities. This means they are not officially separate towns or cities. Instead, they are part of the larger township.
Ashton Community
- Ashton is one of these communities. It was started in 1868. Long ago, it was a stop on the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad. This railroad helped people and goods travel across the area.
Orono Community
- Orono is another unincorporated community. It is located about three miles north of Reed City. Orono was founded a bit later, in 1875. It was also a stop on the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad, just like Ashton.
