Linda Lee Cadwell, born on March 21, 1945, is an American teacher and writer. She is best known as the wife of the famous martial artist and actor Bruce Lee. She is also the mother of actor Brandon Lee and actress Shannon Lee.
Linda wrote a book about Bruce Lee called Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew. This book was later made into a movie, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. She also helped start the Bruce Lee Foundation, which teaches about Bruce Lee's ideas.
Life and Career
Linda was born in Everett, Washington. She met Bruce Lee while she was a student at Garfield High School. Bruce Lee came to her school to show off his kung fu skills.
Later, Linda became one of Bruce Lee's kung fu students. This was when she was studying at the University of Washington. She was planning to become a doctor.
Linda and Bruce Lee got married on August 17, 1964. They had two children, Brandon Lee and Shannon Lee. Sadly, Bruce Lee died suddenly on July 20, 1973.
Linda married Tom Bleecker in 1988, but they divorced in 1990. She then married stockbroker Bruce Cadwell in 1991. They lived in Rancho Mirage, California.
On March 31, 1993, her son Brandon died in an accident while filming the movie The Crow.
Linda Cadwell has worked to share Bruce Lee's martial art, Jeet Kune Do. She stopped working in 2001. Her daughter Shannon now leads the Lee family estate. Shannon and her husband, Ian Keasler, run the Bruce Lee Foundation. This group teaches Bruce Lee's ideas about martial arts and philosophy.

Linda Cadwell wrote the 1975 book Bruce Lee: The Man Only I Knew. This book was the basis for the 1993 movie Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story. Actress Lauren Holly played Linda in the film. Linda also wrote another book in 1989 called The Bruce Lee Story.
