  • 1869: The first Union Church was built in Lynnville. It is believed to be the oldest "union church" in all of Illinois. A union church is one that can be used by different Christian groups.
  • 1887: The Chicago Great Western Railroad was built through the area. A new town, Lindenwood, started to grow close to the train station.
