About Lindi Ortega
Lindi Ortega was born on May 28, 1979, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She has a mixed background, with both Mexican and Irish family roots.
When she was 17, Lindi picked up a guitar at her family home. She wrote her first song called "Faded Dress." She said it was about her first boyfriend breaking up with her right before the prom. She wrote about her dress hanging in the closet, never getting to be worn.
For many years, Lindi tried to get a record deal. It was a tough time, and she worked jobs like making pizza and selling things at flea markets to support herself. She remembers singing her songs for music executives who seemed busy with their phones.
In 2011, she signed with Last Gang Records, which helped her share her music with more people.
