Line of succession to the Swedish throne facts for kids
The line of succession to the Swedish throne is a list of people who could become the next King or Queen of Sweden. It shows the order in which members of the royal family would take the throne.
How the Next Ruler is Chosen
Since 1980, a special law in Sweden decides who will be the next ruler. This law says that the oldest child of the King or Queen will inherit the throne. It doesn't matter if the child is a boy or a girl. This system is called "full primogeniture." It means the first-born child always comes first in line.
