While there, she became good friends with Ketanji Brown Jackson. Ketanji Brown Jackson is now a judge on the highest court in the United States.

Her Career in Law

Lisa Fairfax started her teaching career at the University of Maryland School of Law. In 2009, she joined the George Washington University Law School. There, she became a special professor of business law. Business law is about the rules for companies and how they work.

Lisa is connected to the Democratic Party. In 2015, President Barack Obama wanted her to join the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This is a government group that protects investors and makes sure financial markets are fair. However, she was not approved for that job.
