About the Pretty Rhythm Games
The very first game in the series was called Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt. It came out on July 15, 2010. In this game, Rizumu Amamiya was the main character you could play as. You could also unlock Kanon Todo and Serena Jonouchi as you got better at the game.
Game Updates and New Characters
Later, on October 14, 2010, a big update for Mini Skirt arrived. It even featured a special collaboration with the famous girl group AKB48! Some of their members, Miyu Takeuchi, Anna Mori, and Haruka Shimada, released a song called "Mini Skirt no Yōsei." For a short time, you could even play as them in the game using their nicknames!
The game changed its name during the season 4 update on April 28, 2011. It became Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream to match the new anime show. A new playable character, Aira Harune, joined the fun. Later, on December 15, 2011, Mion Takamine was added as a playable character too.
On April 26, 2012, the game changed its name again to Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. This update brought in four new playable characters: Mia Ageha, Reina Miyama, Karin Shijimi, and Ayami Oruri. These characters were based on the real-life girl group Prizmmy. A few months later, on July 19, 2012, five more characters joined: Hye-in, So-min, Shi-yoon, Chae-kyung, and Jae-eun. They were based on another girl group called Puretty.
The Rainbow Live Series
A brand new series called Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live was launched on April 18, 2013. This game also had its own animated show. The first update for this game added Naru Ayase, Ann Fukuhara, Ito Suzuno, and Rinne as playable characters. Rinne was actually first seen in a Nintendo 3DS game called Pretty Rhythm: My Deco Rainbow Wedding.
More characters arrived on July 11, 2013, with the second update. These included Bell Renjoji, Otoha Takanashi, and Wakana Morizono. Later that year, on November 23, 2013, the game was renamed Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live Duo, and June became a playable character. Cosmo Hojo was introduced in another Nintendo 3DS game, Pretty Rhythm: Rainbow Live: Kirakira My Design.
Crossover Games
On January 5, 2015, a special crossover game was released for the Nintendo 3DS. It was called PriPara & Pretty Rhythm: PriPara de Tsukaeru Oshare Item 1450!. This game combined characters from Pretty Rhythm and PriPara. In this game, you could play as Laala Manaka from PriPara and Hiro Hayami from Pretty Rhythm.

Other Important Characters
In the Pretty Rhythm series, you'll meet a helpful guide named Mega-nee Akai (赤井 めが姉ぇ, Akai Mega-nee, Voiced by: Kanae Itō). She's the one who helps you pick out clothes and gives you tips about outfits in the game.
You'll also see Hibiki and Wataru. They are members of a group called Callings. They appear in the story mode of Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt to help out, but you can't play as them.
