Story of the Prism Stars
The story begins with Naru Ayase, a middle school student. For her school project, she gets a job at a clothing store called Prism Stone. There, she learns about "Prism Shows." These are like concerts where performers sing, dance, and show off cool fashion while figure skating. They use special heart-shaped gems called Prism Stones.
Naru has a "Pair Friend" named Lovelin. With Lovelin, Naru can do a new type of show called a "Prism Live." In a Prism Live, she plays a musical instrument during her performance. Naru, along with her classmates Ann Fukuhara and Ito Suzuno, gets hired at Prism Stone. They also meet Rinne, a girl who has lost her memory. Rinne can do four Prism Jump combinations, which is a very rare skill. Only the current Prism Queen, June Amou, can do this.
The girls from Prism Stone get noticed by Bell Renjoji, Otoha Takanashi, and Wakana Morizono. These three are top students from a fancy Prism Star school called Edel Rose. They challenge Naru's group to a competition called the Dreaming Session.
Prism Shows are scored by how many Prism Jump combinations a performer does. Because of this, Prism Stone loses the Dreaming Session. However, their new Prism Live performances catch the eye of Hijiri Himuro. He is the head of the Prism Show Association. He thinks Prism Lives can make Prism Shows exciting again.
Later, Prism Lives are added to the scoring system. Their popularity makes June want to perform again. This makes Jin Norizuki, the boss of Edel Rose, try to win the Prism Queen title for his school using tricky methods.
During the Winter White Session, Rinne remembers who she is. She is a messenger from the Prism World. Her job is to spread "Prism Sparkle." This sparkle keeps the magic alive for the rinks, Pair Friends, Prism Stones, and Prism Jumps. Rinne was supposed to take over from June, who is the current Prism Messenger. But June has gone against the rules. She wants to stay with Hijiri, so she keeps performing. This stops humans from spreading the Prism Sparkle.
Naru learns that to save the Prism Sparkle, they must win the Prism Queen title from June. They need to do this during the Over the Rainbow Session. They also need to make their "Seventh Coord" evolve. When the last of the Prism Sparkle disappears, Naru's strong will brings it back. In the end, Bell wins the Prism Queen Cup. After the girls send Rinne back to the Prism World, everyone moves on with their lives.
