Rocket Power is a cool American animated television series created by Arlene Klasky and Gábor Csupó. It first aired on Nickelodeon on August 16, 1999. The show ran for four seasons and had a total of seventy-one episodes, ending on July 30, 2004. It's all about a group of friends who love extreme sports and adventures in their hometown of Ocean Shores.

About the Episodes

The Rocket Power series had a pilot episode and four full seasons. Each episode usually featured two shorter stories.

Pilot Episode: Rocket Beach

The very first episode of Rocket Power was called "Rocket Beach." It was made in 1998 to help sell the idea for the show. This pilot episode was never shown on TV to the public. It was directed by Steve Loter and written by Vic Wilson and Eryk Casemiro.

Season 1: 1999–2000 Adventures

The first season of Rocket Power had 20 episodes. It started on August 16, 1999, and finished on March 21, 2000. Here are some of the exciting stories from this season:

  • New Squid on the Block: Sam moves to Ocean Shores from Kansas after his parents' divorce. He has to learn how to fit in with the Rocket gang.
  • Down the Drain: Reggie is asked to look after the Stimpletons' pool while they are away.
  • Secret Spot: When Ocean Shores gets crowded, Raymundo lets Otto, Reggie, Twister, and Sam go to his secret surf spot.
  • Ice Queens: Twister's cousin, Clio, and Reggie argue about which ice competition is better at Winterfest.
  • Otto 3000: Otto's snowboard breaks before a competition. A Sno-Mart person offers him a sponsorship, trying to make him a sellout.
  • Night Prowlers: Lars dares Otto and the gang to sneak out at midnight for a street hockey game.
  • Happy Luau to You-Au: Otto accidentally gets the gang suspended from Madtown, ruining Reggie's birthday plans. Violet tries to cheer her up with a party.
  • Rocket Rescue: Twister and Sam join the Ocean Shores Junior Lifeguard Program to learn how to be real lifeguards.
  • Twister's Cuz: Twister has to babysit his six-year-old cousin, Scotty, while waiting for a new ride at the amusement park.
  • Big Thursday: Otto's surfing hero, "The Rhino," comes to town to surf a huge wave during a tropical storm. Otto wants to join him.
  • Rocket Girls: Reggie teams up with Violet for the Family Fun Day Competition. They hope to win a new jet ski for the Rocket gang.
  • Father's Day Off: Sam's dad visits and takes the gang out. Sam feels ignored because his dad is too busy with work.
  • Powergirl Surfers: Reggie starts a movement for female surfers. This happens after a magazine says girls can't surf and won't feature them.
  • Twisted Cinema: Twister shows a video of Otto doing tricks, but it also shows him wiping out. This causes a problem in their friendship.
  • Blader Bowl: The Blader Bowl opens at Madtown. Video of Otto is mistakenly edited with Sam's shots, making everyone think Sam is a pro blader.
  • Total Luger: Otto sees that Street Luging is popular. He and Twister decide to try it.
  • D' is for Dad: Otto gets a bad grade and can't go on a surfing trip with Raymundo and the gang.
  • Banned on the Run: Otto accidentally hurts Merv while skateboarding. Activists use this to ban skateboarding on the boardwalk.
  • Super McVarial 900: Otto feels confident for a competition after doing a difficult skateboarding move. Sam said it couldn't be done.
  • Loss of Squid: Sam makes friends with another computer genius named Oliver. This tests his friendship with the gang.
  • Rainy Days & Sundaes: Otto, Reggie, and Twister make a big chocolate mess. Reggie avoids blame so she doesn't miss her triathlon.
  • Zine Dreams: Reggie writes embarrassing secrets about the boys in her 'Zine to get back at them. It accidentally gets printed.
  • Hawaii Blues: Everyone takes Tito for granted. His strange behavior shows he feels left out and misses Hawaii.
  • Lost and Find: The gang helps a tough five-year-old girl named Mackenzie find her parents.
  • The Night Before: Otto, Twister, and Sam sneak out with Eddie, Prince of the Netherworld, for Mischief Night.
  • Violet's Violet: The gang accidentally destroys Violet's flower garden. Merv explains they ruined her chance at First Prize at Oceanfest.
  • Fall & Rise of Sam: Otto and Twister look down on bodyboarding. Reggie and Tito teach Sam to surf so he feels included.
  • Typhoid Sam: Sam gets the Fiji Flu, which spreads to Otto, Reggie, and Twister. They are too sick for a street hockey game. Sam tries to find a new team.
  • The Wrath of Don: Otto's idol, Donnie Lightning, comes to town. Otto is disappointed when he learns Donnie can't really skate.
  • Safety Patrol Sam: Sam is forced to be on the Safety Patrol at school. He takes his new power too far.
  • Reggie and a Net: Reggie tries out for the local beach volleyball team to join Trish and Sherry.
  • The Great Sandcastle Race: Sam accepts Oliver's challenge that no one can beat his team in the Sandcastle Competition.
  • Escape From Lars Mountain: Lars is forced to be nicer to Twister. He takes Twister on a biking trip, and the gang plays a trick on Lars.
  • It Was a Dark and Stormy Day: During a thunderstorm, Sam thinks he hears Tito killing Raymundo at the Shore Shack.
  • The Aloha Kid: Tito's nephew, Keoni, visits from Hawaii for a surf contest. Otto gets jealous because Keoni is better than him.
  • Otto Mobile: Tito gets sick, so Raymundo asks Otto and Reggie to help at the Shore Shack. Reggie covers for Otto so he can skate.
  • Big Air Dare: Otto and Reggie compete to see who is the better snowboarder. They decide to go on "The Big Air," which is for adults only.
  • Otto's Big Break: Otto is restless with a broken leg. He tries to play in a hockey tournament using strange devices to help his cast.
  • Snow Day: Sam tells Otto about snow days in Kansas. Otto decides to skip school and drags Sam along.
  • Welcome to the Club: Otto gets a free trial at the Ocean Shores Beach Club. The gang decides to check it out.

Season 2: 2000–2004 Adventures

Season 2 of Rocket Power also had 20 episodes. It aired from March 28, 2000, to March 22, 2004. Here are some of the stories:

  • All About Sam: A new kid, Josh, comes to Ocean Shores. Sam becomes friends with him and introduces him to the gang.
  • Half-Twister: Twister gets scared to skateboard after a bad wipe-out and Otto teases him about it.
  • Twisting Away: Twister makes a huge mess. He overhears his parents and thinks they are sending him away.
  • The Spot Remover: Raymundo, Tito, and the gang go to their secret Surf Spot. Locals get upset because they don't take care of the beach.
  • Rocket Repairs: The gang realizes they can make money fixing sports gear. Otto has his own secret plan for the business.
  • Say Hello to Cement Head: Twister falls into newly poured cement at Madtown. Conroy closes the park until he finds out who did it.
  • Shark Bait: Otto fakes a shark sighting to clear the crowded beach of tourists.
  • A Shot in the Park: The gang goes to the Wet World aquarium for a school project. Twister loses his camera in a closed exhibit.
  • Radical New Equipment: The gang meets disabled athletes on a snowboarding trip. Reggie is impressed by a girl with a metal leg who snowboards well.
  • Tito's Lucky Shell: Sam finds an exotic shell. He and Reggie take it to the Shore Shack to show everyone.
  • The Longest Day: Lars and his gang challenge the Rocket gang to an all-day competition. They want to win a spot on the Wall of Fame.
  • Ottoman and the Sea: During a camping trip, Otto, Reggie, Twister, and Sam convince Raymundo to let them fish alone in the boat.
  • Mr. B is in The House: Otto and Twister learn their new homeroom teacher is Conroy, which surprises them.
  • Earnest Otto: Otto breaks his third surfboard. Raymundo says he needs to learn responsibility and earn a new one.
  • The Good Housekeeping Seal: Twister befriends a harbor seal named Bruce. Lieutenant Tice makes Twister give Bruce up.
  • What's That Smell?: Otto volunteers the gang to clean the beach. They get the beach named after them, but a bigger trash problem remains.
  • Legends and Their Falls: Ocean Shores has a surf contest. Otto wants to win the trophy to become a surfing legend.
  • Welcome to Ottoworld: The gang learns a time capsule will be buried. They imagine what Ocean Shores will be like in 500 years.
  • Bruised Man's Curve: Otto wants to try "Bruised Man's Curve," a dangerous mountainboard track. He asks Reggie, Twister, and Sam for help.
  • Pool's Out Forever: The gang finds Eddie, Prince of the Netherworld, has a new empty pool. Otto wants to skateboard in it before it's filled.
  • Back Bowl: At Mount Baldy, Otto and Twister try to avoid crowds by going down the off-limits backside of the mountain.
  • Game Day: The gang is tired of street hockey practice. Otto invents a new game called Rocketball and makes up rules as they play.
  • It Came From Planet Merv: Twister reads a comic about aliens. He and Otto start to think Merv is a hostile space alien.
  • Netherworld Night: Eddie invites the Rocket gang for a spooky camp-out and sleepover at his house.
  • Here's the Twist: It's April Fools' Day. The gang tries to out-prank each other. Twister's prank is confusing, and they try to figure it out.
  • Sam: King of Kickball: Conroy is the temporary gym teacher and introduces kickball.
  • Tito Time: Raymundo and Tito bet that Tito can't keep up with the gang's activities for a week.
  • The Return of Clio: Twister's cousin Clio returns and starts doing all of Otto's moves better than him.
  • That Old Skateboard: Otto finds an old skateboard and gives it to Sam. Sam fixes it up, and Otto gets jealous.
  • Follow the Leader: Otto and Twister argue about losing a hockey game. Otto challenges Twister to be team captain for the next game.
  • Channel Surfing: The surf is flat. Sam suggests surfing waves made by big boats in the ship channel.
  • Outta My Pit!: The Rocket gang builds a driftwood hangout. Lars and his gang try to take it, leading to a competition.
  • Capture the Flag: After a tie game, the Rocket gang uses the entire Ocean Shores pier for their rematch.
  • The Jinx: The gang is invited to surf Catalina Island. Otto, Reggie, and Twister are unsure if they should bring Sam because they think he's a jinx.
  • Hurricane Maurice: A hurricane hits Ocean Shores. Twister loses his camera. Otto and Twister go into the eye of the storm to find it.
  • Reggie's Choice: Reggie joins the California All-State Girls' Beach Volleyball Team. She has to train for both this and her street hockey team, which is too much.
  • Losers Weepers: The gang gets a motorized skateboard and tries to keep it hidden, but it's too much fun.
  • Reggie: The Movie: Trish and Sherry invite Reggie to a scary movie. Reggie is nervous to tell them she's afraid.
  • Double-O Twistervision: The gang is unhappy with a movie they saw. They decide to make their own movie and show it at the Shore Shack.
  • Womp Race 2000: The California Incline hill is repaved. The gang sets up a risky downhill skateboarding race against Lars's gang.

Season 3: 2001–2004 Adventures

Season 3 of Rocket Power had 20 episodes. It aired from September 10, 2001, to March 25, 2004.

  • The Lingos: Tourists start using the Rocket gang's slang. The gang makes up new words to be different.
  • Shack Attack: Raymundo thinks about selling the Shore Shack to a restaurant chain. He wants to move to a nicer home.
  • To Be Otto Not to Be: Otto meets soul surfers. He starts ignoring his friends and responsibilities at the Shore Shack.
  • Reggie/Regina: Reggie starts acting strange when she meets Trent, a handsome new student from New Zealand.
  • Reggie's Pen is Mightier: Reggie writes an article about the "Top Extreme Athlete" for her 'Zine. This makes local kids compete for the title.
  • Kayaks Amok: The gang is invited to the Catalina Classic Paddleboard Race. They must stay in their kayaks behind the competitors.
  • Tito Sitting: Raymundo leaves town. Tito volunteers to look after Otto and Reggie.
  • There's Something About Breezy: Raymundo likes Breezy, a woman who loves extreme sports. Reggie gets jealous because Breezy's skills get all the attention.
  • Beach Boyz & a Girl: Otto and Reggie find an old music record by Raymundo and Tito. This inspires the gang to form their own band.
  • X-Treme Ideas: The Extreme Sports Network has a contest for the most original extreme sport. Otto and the gang try out new ideas.
  • Less Than Full Otto: Otto has a bad wipe-out while surfing. He loses confidence and is afraid to surf, skateboard, or blade again.
  • Card Sharked: Otto tricks Twister out of his favorite rookie card. Reggie and Sam spread a false rumor to get back at Otto.
  • Home Sweet Home: A new indoor skate park, Skatopia, opens. It threatens Conroy's Madtown. The gang finds it's not as fun as it seems.
  • What a Tangled Web We Ski: Raymundo exaggerates about being a freestyle skiing champion. When a kid bets Otto his dad can beat Raymundo, Raymundo has to prove himself.
  • Enter the Hawk-Trix: The gang hears that Tony Hawk might quit skating. They go to his secret "Hawk's Nest" to convince him not to give up.
  • Vert vs. Street: Conroy announces a skateboarding competition with "vert" and "street" divisions. Otto and Reggie argue about which is better.
  • Twister's Hat: Twister loses his hat on a rollercoaster. He has an identity crisis and remembers how he got it as a child.
  • Tito-Thon: Tito tries to get back in shape when his Hawaiian surf buddies come for the Ocean Shores Triathlon.
  • Rad Rover Come Over: The gang finds a stray dog, Ollie. Otto and Reggie adopt him. Raymundo is afraid of dogs, so they enter Ollie in a competition to convince him.
  • Extreme Nerd: Sam enters a robot-fighting competition. He tries to defeat Oliver and his crew, who are the champions.
  • Cinco de Twisto: Twister's voice changes before he has to sing for Cinco de Mayo. Lars tricks him into thinking he ruined it permanently.
  • Saving Lt. Ryan: Major Madison inspects Ocean Shores. He enforces a "No Rules" policy, letting the gang and tourists do what they want.
  • Summer Breezy: Breezy invites Raymundo, Tito, and the gang to Lake Havasu to try new water sports gear.
  • Sammy's Fortune: The gang meets a fortune-teller, Patsy, whose predictions come true. Sam acts recklessly when his fortune says he can't be hurt.
  • Major Scrummage: Trent wants to teach the gang Rugby. Reggie gets offended because Trent thinks it's too rough for her.
  • Snow Bounders: A snowstorm, El Nada, is coming. Sam shows the gang cool snow activities he learned back East.
  • Merv Links to Otto: Otto breaks his bike handlebar before a competition. Merv fixes it if Otto caddies for him at golf.
  • Big Air: Sam has a severe asthma attack. Otto, Reggie, and Twister become worried and treat him with extra caution.
  • Missile Crisis: Reggie meets her idol, mountain biker Missy "The Missile" Giove. Reggie starts acting rude and aggressive like her idol.
  • Falsely Alarmed: Lars gets punished for pulling the fire alarm. Otto and Twister were actually responsible; they wanted to call Reggie and Sam over.
  • Twisting Places: Mrs. Rodriguez tells Lars he can't compete unless he stops bullying Twister. Twister uses this to provoke Lars without fear.
  • Power Play: The Rocket gang reaches the finals of the NHL Breakout Tournament. They must win to play an exhibition match with pro hockey players.
  • Sim Sammy: Otto, Reggie, and Twister find a new online game Sam made about them. They are upset because it makes fun of their personalities.
  • Otto Hangs 11: Otto turns eleven and thinks he's old enough to be a pro athlete. He becomes obsessed with perfecting his skills.
  • Race Across New Zealand: The gang works hard making food deliveries. They earn enough money to compete in the New Zealand Junior Waikikamukau Games.

Season 4: 2003–2004 Adventures

The final season of Rocket Power had 11 episodes. It aired from July 19, 2003, to July 30, 2004.

  • Twist of Fate: The gang gets lost exploring the Grand Canyon. Twister is confident he can rescue them because he watches a cartoon about survival.
  • A Rocket X-Mas: Otto and Reggie learn a Christmas lesson. They spend too much time earning money for an expensive surfboard for Raymundo.
  • Reggie's Big (Beach) Break: The gang is excited because their town is hosting a seven-day extreme sports TV special. It features celebrity skateboarders and a concert.
  • New Girl on the Block: Reggie makes friends with a mysterious new girl, Carla. The gang becomes suspicious of Carla's secretive behavior.
  • After Shocked: An earthquake hits Ocean Shores. Otto and Twister skateboard around the evacuated town, filming themselves despite aftershocks.
  • Island of the Menehune: Raymundo and Tito reward the gang with a Hawaii vacation. Raymundo rekindles an old romance with Tito's cousin, Noelani.
  • The Big Day: Raymundo and Noelani's wedding is coming soon. Otto and Reggie help with plans. Otto tries to change the wedding date because it's the same day as a new skate park opening.
