List of colonial governors of Togo facts for kids
This article tells you about the people who were in charge of Togo when it was a colony. A "colony" means a country or area controlled by another, more powerful country. Togo was ruled by different European countries over time.
First, it was under the control of the German Empire and was called Togoland. Then, during World War I, soldiers from other countries (the Allies) took over. After the war, Togo was split into two parts. One part, called French Togoland, was managed by France. The other part, British Togoland, was managed by the United Kingdom. These parts were called "mandates" and later "trust territories" by international groups like the League of Nations and the United Nations. This list shows the leaders who governed Togo during all these different periods.
