This article is about the leaders of Guinea-Bissau, a country in West Africa. It lists all the people who have been the President of Guinea-Bissau since the country became independent in 1973.
Guinea-Bissau declared its independence from Portugal on September 24, 1973. Since then, the country has had six official presidents. There have also been five acting presidents and three military leaders who temporarily took charge. The person currently holding the office is Umaro Sissoco Embaló. He became president on February 27, 2020, after winning the 2019 presidential election.

Presidential Term Limits
As of 2021, the rules in Guinea-Bissau's Constitution say that a president can serve for two terms at most. Each term lasts five years. So far, no president has served for the full two terms.
