This article tells you about the leaders, called presidents, of Guinea-Bissau. Guinea-Bissau is a country in West Africa. The role of president was created in 1973. Since Guinea-Bissau became independent from Portugal on September 24, 1973, the country has had several leaders. These include six presidents, five acting presidents, and three temporary military leaders. The current leader is General Horta Inta-A Na Man. He became the transitional president on November 27, 2025, after a change in government.
How Long Can a President Serve?
The rules of Guinea-Bissau say that a president can serve for two terms. Each term lasts five years. So far, no president has served for the full two terms.
