Tulsa is the second largest city in Oklahoma, a state in the United States. This city is home to many tall buildings, also known as high-rises. There are 26 buildings in Tulsa that are taller than 200 feet (61 meters). Four of these buildings are even taller than 492 feet (150 meters)!
The tallest building in Tulsa is the BOK Tower. It stands 667 feet (203.3 meters) tall in Downtown Tulsa and was finished in 1975. It's also the second-tallest building in all of Oklahoma. The second-tallest skyscraper in Tulsa is the Cityplex Central Tower, which is 648 feet (197.5 meters) tall and was built in 1979. The First Place Tower, completed in 1975, is 516 feet (157.3 meters) tall and is the third-tallest building in the city. The story of skyscrapers in Tulsa began in 1918 with the Cosden Building. This building, with its 16 floors, is often seen as Tulsa's very first skyscraper. The first buildings in Tulsa to be taller than 492 feet (150 meters) were the BOK Tower and the First Place Tower, both finished in 1975. As of late 2019, no new buildings taller than 197 feet (60 meters) were being built or planned. Experts who study tall buildings rank Tulsa's skyline as one of the tallest in the Southern United States and among the top 25 in the entire United States.
