Lito Legaspi (born Ludovico A. Legaspi) was a famous Filipino actor. He starred in many movies and TV shows in the Philippines. Lito Legaspi was born on September 10, 1941, and passed away on September 8, 2019. He was the father of actors Zoren Legaspi, Kier Legaspi, and Brando Legaspi. He even won an award called the Gawad Urian Award for his great acting in the movie Sinong Kapiling? Sinong Kasiping? in 1977.

Lito Legaspi's Acting Journey
Starting as a Young Star
Lito Legaspi began his acting career in 1959. His first movie was a comedy called Ipinagbili Kami Ng Aming Tatay. In this film, he acted alongside the famous comedian Dolphy.
In 1963, a big movie studio called Sampaguita Pictures introduced Lito. He was part of a group of new teenage stars. This group included Rosemarie Sonora, Gina Pareño, Dindo Fernando, and others. Lito quickly became a popular young star, much like Eddie Gutierrez.
Later Roles in TV and Movies
As he got older, Lito Legaspi continued to act in many shows. In 1997, he played Mayor Joaquin Montejo in the TV series Esperanza. This show was very popular on ABS-CBN and starred Judy Ann Santos.
He also played a Governor in Makapiling Kang Muli, a prime time TV series on GMA Network. Lito Legaspi was a very busy actor. He appeared in over 120 movies and television shows during his long career, which started in 1959.
In December 2014, Lito Legaspi was honored. He was added to the Eastwood City Walk Of Fame Philippines. This was to celebrate his important contributions to both movie and TV acting.
Lito Legaspi's Family Life
Lito Legaspi had three sons: Zoren, Kier, and Brando. All three of his sons also became actors, following in their father's footsteps.
His daughter-in-law, Carmina Villaroel-Legaspi, is also a well-known actress and TV host. Lito's grandchildren are also involved in show business. These include Zoren and Carmina's twins, Maverick and Cassandra. Kier's daughter, Dani Barretto, is also in the entertainment world.
Health and Passing
On September 6, 2019, Lito Legaspi felt chest pains. He was taken to the Cardinal Santos Memorial Medical Center. Sadly, he passed away two days later, on September 8, 2019. He died from a heart attack at around 10:00 AM. This was just two days before his 78th birthday.
Lito Legaspi was buried at Caryana Monastery. This place is located in Magalang, Pampanga.
