Little Creek is a small stream in the state of Missouri, United States. It flows through three different counties: Wright, Texas, and Douglas. Little Creek is a "tributary," which means it's a smaller waterway that flows into a larger one. It eventually joins the North Fork River.
Where Little Creek Begins and Flows
Little Creek starts, or its "headwaters," are found just east of Missouri Route 95. This spot is south of the town of Mountain Grove, in the southeast part of Wright County.
Journey Through the Counties
From its start, the stream moves into the southwest corner of Texas County. It then flows towards the southeast, following along a road called Little Creek Road.
The creek continues its journey into the northwest part of Douglas County. Its "confluence," which is where it meets and joins the North Fork River, is about one mile south of the border between Douglas and Texas counties.
Why It's Called Little Creek
The name "Little Creek" was given to this stream because it is smaller than other creeks in the area. Its size made people decide to call it "Little Creek."
