Jetlag Productions facts for kids
Jetlag Productions was an American animation studio. They made many animated movies based on popular children's stories. They also created some original films.
These movies were animated in Japan by KKC&D Asia and Animal Ya. Other companies in South Korea also helped. The films were first sold directly on VHS tapes. This was done through a company called GoodTimes Entertainment.
Later, when DVDs became popular, the films were sold on DVD. This was still by a part of GoodTimes Entertainment. Jetlag's movies were translated into many languages. They were sold all over the world. After GoodTimes Entertainment went out of business in 2005, the Gaiam company took over the rights to these animated films.
The Story of Jetlag Productions
Jetlag Productions began as a small animation company. They helped with TV shows like The New Adventures of He-Man in 1990. They also worked on Heroes on Hot Wheels (1990) and Conan the Adventurer (1992).
Later, a company called GoodTimes Entertainment contacted them. GoodTimes Entertainment was run by the Cayre Brothers. Jetlag Productions then started making animated movies for GoodTimes. They took over from another company called Golden Films.
Under their new name, Jetlag Productions created a series called Children's Classics. These animated films were similar in style to the Golden Films movies. Jetlag Productions started releasing their films in 1994. They made a total of 17 different animated movies. Thirteen of these were based on existing stories. Four were completely new stories.
All 17 films were about 45 minutes long. They were released directly to VHS tapes. The last film they released was The Hunchback of Notre Dame on April 30, 1996. After this, GoodTimes Entertainment started working with a new animation company.
Jetlag Productions' films were brought back on DVD in 2002. They were sold under a "Collectible Classics" label. These DVDs were widely available until GoodTimes went out of business in 2005. All their movies then went to the Gaiam company.

The Music in Jetlag Films
Jetlag Productions created original music for their films. This was different from other animation studios that used older classical music. For example, only Heidi used a part of Edvard Grieg's "Morning Mood". Most of the music was new, created by Andrew Dimitroff.
Original Songs in the Movies
Every Jetlag film had three original songs. Usually, the songs were sung by voices that were not the characters themselves. But in some movies, the characters sang the songs. For example, "Hip Hip Hooray" from "Snow White" (1995) was sung by characters. "Sleep and Dream" from "Magic Gift of the Snowman" (1995) was also sung by characters.
Some popular songs included "Dream On, Cinderella" from "Cinderella". Also, "Start With A Smile" and "This Is Home" were from "Heidi". "Never Give Up" was a song from "Hercules".
