The Little River is a river in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, United States. It's called a "tributary" because it flows into a larger river, the Menominee River. Think of it like a smaller branch joining a bigger tree trunk.
Where Does the Little River Flow?
The Little River is about 35.2 miles (56.6 kilometers) long. It starts its journey south of a town called Stephenson. From there, it flows generally south.
The River's Journey
The river continues its path until it meets the Menominee River. This meeting point is about 3 miles (4.8 kilometers) upstream from two cities that are very close to each other: Menominee, Michigan and Marinette, Wisconsin. These cities are located right on the shores of Lake Michigan. So, the Little River's water eventually makes its way into Lake Michigan!
