Little Rosey was a fun animated TV show from 1990. It was made in Canada and the United States by a company called Nelvana. The show aired on Saturday mornings on ABC in the U.S. It was the very first cartoon idea from the famous comedian, Roseanne Barr.
What the Show Was About
The cartoon Little Rosey was inspired by comedian Roseanne Barr's own childhood. It aired on ABC's Saturday morning cartoon block.
The main character was an 8-year-old girl named Rosey. She had a sister named Tess and a best friend named Buddy. The show followed their adventures as they used their amazing imaginations. They would pretend their way through everyday challenges. These challenges included things like spelling bees, family trips, and even rules their parents made.
Other characters you'd see often were Rosey's parents. There was also her little sister Nonnie and her baby brother Tater. Plus, there were two "science nerds" who were sometimes their rivals. Each episode of Little Rosey was made up of two shorter stories, each about 11 minutes long.
A couple of years later, in 1992, a special cartoon called The Rosey and Buddy Show was made. It was shown during prime time on May 15, 1992. In this special, Rosey and Buddy actually went into "Cartoonland." They tried to stop some TV executives who wanted to change their show. For this special, Roseanne Barr herself voiced the character of Rosey!
