About the Little Yaquina River
The Little Yaquina River is an important part of the local water system. It helps carry water from the land into the larger Yaquina River. This process is vital for the environment and the animals that live there.
Where Does It Start and Go?
The Little Yaquina River begins in the Central Oregon Coast Range. These are mountains located in the middle part of Oregon's coast. The river starts on the eastern side of the border between Benton and Lincoln counties.
Right away, it crosses into Lincoln County. From there, it flows generally south. The river then meets the main part of the Yaquina River near a place called Hamar Lake. This meeting point is just north of a town called Nashville.
Friends of the River: Cedar Creek and Hamar Lake
The Little Yaquina River has its own smaller stream that flows into it. This stream is called Cedar Creek. Cedar Creek joins the Little Yaquina River from its right side. If you were floating downstream, the right side would be on your right.
